VIP tickets include free admission to the after party,
sponsored by House of Jazz Entertainment. The after
party will take place at the E. E. P. Creative Arts
Complex located at 13240 Euclid Avenue.
Chestnut discovered the power of music at age six in
Baltimore's Mount Calvary Baptist church and
eventually earned a degree in jazz composition and
arranging from Boston's Berklee College of Music in
1985. Nowadays, he performs his arrangements of
spirituals, standards and classical pieces with the
country's top symphonies.
The guest artist will be Cleveland's own Kelly
Chapman. Kelly will be performing songs from her soon
to be released CD "Real". Shirley Cook and Company
will perform live at the after party with Greg Bandy on
drums, Eddie Baccus, Sr. on piano and Cecil Rucker on
vibes.

Fifth International Edible Book Festival
Booklovers, bookbinders, cooks, and craftspeople of all
ages are invited to view the Edible Book entries, cast
their votes, and eat the edible books.
The exhibition opens to the public for viewing and
voting at 1:00 pm, awards presented at 3:00 pm and
eating commences at 3:15 pm. Tickets for
voting/eating participants will be $2, payable at the
door.
The Fifth International Edible Book Festival will occur
throughout the world on any day from April 1 to April
5. This is Cleveland's first participation in the event.
Popular votes will determine the Most Creative, Most
Bookish, and Most Delicious entries. Prizes will include
thematically chosen books from Loganberry Books.
Entries already include professional bookbinders, local
chefs, electricians, bookworms, and pre-teen
artists.

Taught by Laurie Garrett, Cleveland Heights artist and
art educator, these classes provide an opportunity for
students to experiment, to develop and value their own
individual means of expression, and to have fun! Class
size is limited to eight students.
Mondays, 4:15 5:30 p.m.
Mixed Media: We will explore a wide variety of
materials, and through the use of line, shape, color and
texture, make things both beautiful and functional.
Wednesdays, 4:15 5:30 p.m.
Drawing: This class is for students who are
proficient in drawing and wish to go further, exploring
more challenging subject matter and technique. Please
bring a sketchbook to the first class.
Thursdays, 4:15 5:30 pm.
Drawing: Emphasis is on developing drawing
skills through the quality of line and the building of
form, using a variety of materials. Please bring a
sketchbook to the first class.
Saturdays, 1:30 2:45 p.m.
Bookmaking: From pop-ups to sketchbooks,
we will learn the many means of expression to be found
in the handmade book.

I. WORLD ADVENTURE
Ages 6 to 9 A new country is explored each week
through theater, dance, music and
language! This is a very active, imaginative class that
also provides a
rich multicultural experience.
Time: Tuesdays, 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Instructor: Robin Pease, a Equity actress and founder
of the
nationally-known Cleveland Heights-based Kulture Kids.
II. STAGE
COACHING
Ages 10 to 12
Movement, vocal and acting techniques are utilized in
scene work from
winning plays of the Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting
Festival. The
class
will culminate in the creation of original scenes.
Time: Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
